University Grant commission asks all universities of India to include yoga module in syllabus of physiotherapy courses.
University Grants Commission (UGC) has instructed all universities and affiliated colleges to include teaching and training of Yoga in their Bachelor's and Master's programs for of Physiotherapy .
The circular to this effect was issued by the UGC on Thursday
(May 19, 2016). A letter written by Ministry of Human Resource Development to UGC which was enclosed with the UGC circular said that 'Ministry of AYUSH has requested that the UGC may include yoga syllabus in BPT and MPT for forthcoming academic session.
The honourable prime minister has also desired that the possibility of giving suitable preference in admission to graduate courses in physiotherapy to those candidates having requisite expertise in yoga may be explored.
