Sonia Gandhi begins physiotherapy for injured shoulder

12 August 2016, New Delhi:

Congress President Sonia Gandhi and supremo, who was admitted to Sir Ganga Ram Hospital in the national capital 10 days ago, has responded to the treatment of her infection and resumed physiotherapy for her shoulder injury.

According to hospital statement, "Sonia Gandhi has shown improvement from infection and has no fever today. She is responding to antibiotics and has restarted her physiotherapy rehabilitation for shoulder.

The Congress president has been undergoing treatment at the Sir Ganga Ram hospital for the last 10 days after falling ill during a roadshow in Varanasi.

 She had got fractured her left shoulder during the roadshow.

On 11th August, the doctors treating her, advised her to extend her stay in the hospital by a few days as she was running a fever in between.

She had undergone a surgery on her left shoulder on 3 August 2106 and doctors said she almost recovered from the injury.

Sonia Gandhi was shifted to the Sir Ganga Ram Hospital from the Army Research and Referral (R&R) Hospital, where she was rushed soon after her arrival from Varanasi around midnight of 2 August 2016.
